Make way for cyclists and pedestrians

Polluting traffic is discouraged, clean traffic is encouraged. By giving way to pedestrians and cyclists, we can significantly reduce the amount of motorised traffic. This will contribute significantly to climate goals, make Eindhoven healthier and more attractive, reclaim space for greenery in our streets and make it safer for children and animals to be outside.

In recent years, Eindhoven has made plans to reduce car traffic within the ring road. But we also want to ensure that streets in residential areas are safe for children to play in, where cars have to drive at walking pace or, better still, park at the side of the road. Just like in holiday parks. 

In some places, such as Strijp-S, it gets so busy that even cyclists and pedestrians can no longer share the space safely. In those cases, pedestrians have right of way.
